Description:

Mechanical and Civil engineering services consulting on the Fire system in the power station. Civil scope included contractor project management and monitoring, as well as integrity assessment of the civil structures. Scope involved with the carrying out of a design review of the fire water pumping capacity looking into the worst-case scenario for both pressure and flow capacities. Further design reviews were conducted on fire detection system, protection system for the emergency diesel pumps and foam deluge system. Shikombiso completed the development of technical documentation including Operational and maintenance philosophy, planned maintenance schedules and checklists. Shikombiso was involved in the investigation of fire related incidents to determine the causes and mitigations to avoid recurrences.
